Our History

Originally a working farm in the village, Antony started selling stoves from his living room in 1978, creating the first fireplace and live stove display in our showroom the following year.

The showroom expanded to display stoves in a variety of settings, while the range of manufacturers continued to grow. This included leading Scandinavian brands such as Jøtul and Morsø, alongside British manufacturers from all corners of the country.

A.R.Peet Today

Today, A.R.Peet remains a family business, run by Antony and James and specialising in stoves since 1978. We are situated in the charming village of Hickling, between Melton Mowbray and Nottingham, known locally for its canal basin with resident swans and ducks, and of course its chocolate cafe!

Our showroom contains more than 75 stoves from over 20 different manufacturers, with many under fire so you can really get a feel for how your stove will look and perform. Our range includes both traditional and contemporary designs, with a choice of different styles, sizes and technologies.

We pride ourselves on providing the choice and information you need to find the right stove for your home. Our support doesn't end when you purchase your stove; we're here to help throughout its life, whether you need advice over the phone, help with a problem or a spare part.
